So what if we're isolated? I have to say out of all the schools Ive been to that Tech is the only one I miss. For a Tech fan it isnt all about cash unlike most other spots. We just dont give a damn. That's why if we beat a rival team (normally UT or those damned aggies) we're the ones getting in trouble for rushing the field throwing batteries tortillas etc. So Tennessee would be a step down not necessarily bc it might or might not pay better, but bc they're not Tech. Same with any other school

I'm no SEC fan, but Tennessee is one of the best jobs in the country. They've got the biggest stadium outside of the Big Ten, and arguably the best home field advantage in college football. They're kings in their own state and have SEC money. Texas Tech will always be third fiddle in its own state. It may be in Texas, but it's only the 7th largest university in Texas and its endowment is less than 10% of the Longhorns or the Aggies. And Lubbock is very, very isolated.

You're right, but it's common sense for those who are already used to winter weather. I, on the other hand, found these tips quite helpful, since I live in an island (Puerto Rico), and never traveled to cold places. But THIS winter I have to travel to IOWA which is -7 right now and was desperate for winter tips. Dont open up your aperture the whole way... DOF should also be a consideration. Especially if say you are doing a cityscape. Wide open your DOF will become shallow. If you're using a tripod, (which you should be) aperture doesn't really matter. If you have any sort of noise reduction for your camera turn it on. It'll help with the image sensor heating up and creating more noise due to the longer shutter speed.

You can increase the f-number for a bigger depth of field, but it will subsequently need a longer exposure - and if it goes beyond 30 seconds, most DSLRs will need an optional cable release.

Thanks sminxsmjs! Nope, no script, just ad-libbing with many retakes until I'm happy with it! As for the exposures, you've got it spot-on. If you close the aperture by one stop, such as going from f4 to f5.6, then you'd need to double the exposure to compensate, such as going from 2 seconds to 4 seconds. I suggested an open aperture here as I was already using a very long exposure, so doubling it wouldn't have been possible without using Bulb mode and a cable release.

Wow, that was very informative. I also learned that tomatoe greens (the part on the tomatoe top that is attached to the vine, plus the vine for that matter) is highly toxic to cats and can cause kidney damage, even death. I only know this as my little Kashmir nibbled on some I had on my counter and was deathly sick for 4-5 days. Needless to say, I take all greens off my tomatoes as soon as I bring them in the house.

basically you go into your bios by hitting the DEL key when your computer first starts up. the most basic way to overclock is by just increasing your fsb speed. stock is usually 200MHz. What you are doing is telling the processor to do it's math faster, no CPU is the same because they are so complex, AMD/INTEL find a speed that all their processors run at and they pin it there, you are just finding it's max speed that it can operate at.

I don't think i7 cpus are currently interesting for normal users.. all these stuff you gotta buy are really a pain in the neck : 3 gbs of so freaking expensive (&useless)ddr3 + an expensive motherboard that can't be found under $250 and the processor itself which is only available in 3 versions, $300 $650 1200$... wtf? i prefer 100 times my e7200 that cost $150 with my p35 motherboard..

Its sad that people need to base their health on how much they weigh rather than how they look and feel. Someone could weigh nothing at all but be in terrible shape with no balance and symmetry. I know a girl thats 95 pounds, but 23% bodyfat. She looks like a rail, so is that what matters? If people want to be in "better shape", it starts by throwing away your scale and assuming responsibility for our actions.

there is nothing wrong with animal protein as long as it comes from a lean source. and if you are worried about the fat content and other concerns more and more farms are breeding leaner pigs and other animals to meet the growing demand for leaner meat. lean pork will soon be the safest meat for people in terms of nutrition and quality. anyhow good luck with your vegan diet! i'll stick to mine though

I don't know about "best" but there are so many. contrary to popular belief, vegetables do have protein, though not as much as soy. beans, nuts, and soy have lots of protein. though, we do not need tons of protein. most people probably get twice as much as they need, and too much protein, especially animal protein, can cause cancer. basically, you can't get a protein deficiancy unless you just dont eat. you also can get iron from leaft greens and omega 3 from flax seed oil instead of fish.

Use calimine lotion (its what you use if you have poison ivy or something like that) it in a pink bottle and just rub it over the shoe not the shank and give it a couple of hours to dry. Or some of my friends use face powder

See, our dance teacher has us simply crisscross the ribbons once in front and once in back, then tie a knot on the inside of the foot. The extra ribbon is cut off and the edges burned (which keeps it from fraying). My shoes are Capezio Glisse, and they are wonderful. The rest of my class uses Bloch (I went to a diffent retail) and their arch isn't nearly as good. I think I got lucky there. :)

I have a question about turning I have been dancing now for 13years and STILL can't get the head right my teacher uses the leave and whip way to try and teach us but it just makes my head hurt REALLY bad and I know I'm not going to get anywhere if I can't turn properly so what I was wondering is if theres a way of turning without making my head hurt!! Or making me dizzy or is it just me??

i wear them too! once i felt strong enough in extraflex, i switched to supple. now i'm back to extraflex because i broke a big toe over three months ago; that wasn't caused from dancing. i'm only doing releves so i don't reinjure it, but it feels wonderful! :D

its actually mostly dependent on your strength not how well you can dance. And a big part is your age because your foot muscle or bone stuff isn't fully developed until a certain age which is around twelve. if you start too soon before that you can easily permanently damage your feet and you wont be able to dance again or well. so obviously if you try a pair of pointe shoes on and they dont hurt when you walk around, even tho ur feet and legs are shaking, it doesnt mean your ready for pointe :)

I have a flat foot lol. But Ballet helps it a lot, actually. And if you're legs are strong, it shouldn't take too long. Just make sure you pay attention in the class because the faster you learn the sooner you'll go up en pointe.

I have Gaynor Minden pointe shoes and they really are perfect and made to fit me. They're based in America though, so you can just go on their website and send in your details on your foot and they choose the shoe to fit you, and they certainly pick well! I've worn GM pointe shoes since I was twelve and I'm now fourteen, only needed a new pair just at the beginning of this year, they certainly last well too :)xx
