To make this clearer, let me clarify. By mentioning Tim Berners-Lee as the inventor of the world wide web means that he invented the HTML which helps communicate between web browsers and server. As quoted from Castells in "This rise of the network society page 50 "The invention of the world wide web took place in Europe, in 1990, at the Centre Europeen pour Recherche Nucleaire (CERN) in Geneva. It was invented by a group of researchers at CERN led by Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau."

Because the amount of data that is needed to really give semantics. look at the datasets that are created by creating any amount of metadata from something like wikipedia. Now imagine trying to process all of that every time you want to look for somehting. that is what the semantic web will need to do before it is really semantic.

On the iPhone, you can't add any memory. And there' a 100 dollar difference in price between 8 and 16gb iphones. I think it's a lot easier to have an SD card. It's removable, so if you break your phone or something, you can easily transfer all your saved pictures, songs, whatever, to a new device with no trouble. There's supposed to be an update soon the allows the G1 to accept up to 32gb micro sd cards. And there are adapters, so you can use the same card for your camera or Wii or whatever

This phone is totally different then the iPhone. But if you want to go that route then the iPhone is just a copy of the HTC Herald (att 8525) but the 8525 had 3G on its first implementation and came out before the iPhone + HTC didnt make you pay twice for the same product to get the 3g.

i have one thing to say about the youtube app on the g1. if you are connected to wifi the videos will play in the high quality feature for the video. but if say your using the edge network it will play the video in lower quality. it may play in high quality off the edge network if you have 4 bars i dont really know cause i havent tried when i have 4 bars. but this is a little piece of information for everyone to know

This is the ultimate cell phone. This actually a computer in a phone. Blackberry, Iphone, or Ipode don't even come CLOSE. VERY VERY VERY GOOD JOB, google team; I only have one suggestion for google team, can you incoporate flash player in the phone so we can also watch video from other sites.

Yes you can watch any video in youtube only, but as far as video on other websites, you'll need a flash player. And G1 one doesn't support a flash player.

That was me singing, David MacDonald. Many years ago I was on Broadway in a show and dod the US National Tour of Cats. I blew out my voice and lost my career. That's how I ended up in the disability field 10 years ago. Now I just sing on and off when it's in good shape.

I had a person ask how I made Sharky talk, asking whether it was a real person through a synthesizer. I created Sharkey's dialogue by typing out everything I wanted Sharky to say and then getting JAWS screen reader to read it while I recorded the output using another computer to capture the voice. I did this using various settings on JAWS for different speeds and pitches. Then I transferred the recorded files to my music program Cubase, and cut it up to go on the beat.
